I thought it would be interesting to write an article on the subject now that I've set up a Messenger bot for my Boréales Créations Facebook page.

What is a Messenger bot?

You've created a robot? It's your fault, isn't it Skynet?
Well, not yet anyway. Here the Messenger bot is simply used to answer for you when people, prospects, customers write to you on your Facebook page. 😃

You know what it's like when you're busy, you don't necessarily check all the notifications and quite often the messages from your Facebook page aren't in the same place as those from your personal account.

Usefulness for retailers

In short, beyond the practical side for you, there's also an interest for the person who wants to write to you. In fact, the bot will enable you to define several automatic responses with buttons, options to choose from...

Everything you need to keep the discussion going with your prospect!

So, in just a few seconds, a Facebook user can have access to a range of your rates, the certainty of being contacted again by leaving their email, and on your side you'll already have details of their project.

That's all well and good, but what if the user doesn't select the suggested answers?

Don't panic, the bot (at least mine did) is based on keywords such as "rates" or "website", which enables us to understand what the user is talking about and respond accordingly, no matter how the information reaches us.

In this case, the options we offer make it quicker and simpler for the user to ask us what they want.

Well, a picture's worth 1,000 words, so a video's worth even more, so you can see how it works right here 😃
